He was born in October 26 1910, in Feldebrő. His father came from Kál, and was an engine smith. His mother was a successor of a water miler family in Feldebrő. He began his studies in Feldebrő, with excellent grades. In 1922 he was admitted to the Szent Bernát Főgimnázium in Eger. After graduation he coninued his studies in the Érseki Római Katolikus Tanítóképző in Eger. In 1931 he got a public school teacher’s certificate and a cantorial diploma. His first job was in the school of Felsőnyárád. One year later he began to work in Aldebrő as a cantor-teacher. Beside cantorial, teaching tasks he dealt with the youth, too. In the last phase of the World War he was drafted. After few months of soldiering, he falled into captivity in Russia, in October, 1945 he returned home and continued his work. He was married in 1951. In 1955 he was made schoolmaster. In his free time he dealt a lot with Aldebrő’s past. He also processed the history of the Castle of Debrő. He made a tableau with explanatory drawings, text and material remains.
He made the map of the village which showed each house in the year 1954. He wrote down the everyday life of the peasants, wartime happenings and the foundation and working of the Farmer’s Co-operative. He encouraged the children to preserve and take care of the old objects, that’s why you can see many things in the Regional Historical Exhibition.
Unfortunately , only a minor part is available of his collection. Apart from the history of the village, his other favourite occupation was the archeology. He was in constant contact with the tractor drivers, who often found archeological findings. He found things from the Avar age and from the age of the Hungarian conquest. The most beautiful things were exhibited in the office of the school. Based on his announcement, rich and valuavle material findings were conducted in the village of the age of the Hungarian Conquest. In 1970, his family moved to Eger, but he stayed in the village during the building of the school, whicg wasn’t good for his family. Int he years of his retirement he liked working in the garden and even did household duties.
However, his favourite activity was getting acquainted with foreign tourists. He helped them to find accommodation and showed them the sights of the country.
As time passed he was attacked by old-age diseases, after hospital cures his health didn’t improve. He die din August 16, 1984.
